Your Personal identification information
I don’t really collect and keep any information that you don’t provide. The reason I need your personal information is for contacting you. You can voluntarily provide your information when you set up an account through the search portal, when you fill out my contact form, or when you sign up to receive my email newsletter. And, as you will read below, you can remove yourself from my records at any time, or ask me to.
You are always free to visit my site at anytime anonymously.
Your Personal Information provided through the Property Search functions
The property search function software of my site is provided by a third-party, called IDXBroker. Information can be collected in two ways:
Cookies: Information is collected about you and your browsing habits through cookies. The information collected can include the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet, your IP address, your browser, software operating system, web log data (including the date and time you access this site), pages you visit, what you do during your visit, and what searches you performed.
Account: You may sign up for an account with your email, and may choose to provide further identifying information. This will allow you to save your search perimeters or set up property alerts. It is a great feature.
Non-personal identification information
Non-personal identification information is collected from Users to help me make the site better. I can view stats like how many visitors I had, which pages were viewed, which links were clicked and what outside website led someone to my site by using analytics software like Google Analytics or Jetpack.
Web browser cookies
My site may use “cookies” to enhance your User experience. The information collected can include the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet, your IP address, your browser, software operating system, web log data (including the date and time you access this site), pages you visit, what you do during your visit, and what searches you performed.
I use open tracking in my emails. When I send emails newsletters, my email software provider, Mailchimp, tracks behaviors such as how many people opened the emails and how many links were clicked. This all just helps me measure success and relevance for my efforts.
How I use collected information
I collect your information that you voluntarily provide. You give me information through my contact form and my email newsletter sign up. I will use your information to give you what you requested. I will call or email you to answer messages submitted through my contact form, and I may send periodic email newsletters.
Sharing your personal information
I don’t share your information. However, I do use third-party providers to help my website function. Those providers sometimes are my means for collecting information, and so they technically are “sharing” it with me. Currently, those providers are:
Just so you know, when you post comments to my site, your posts may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside the site in perpetuity (a great legal word that I love using). In other words, other people could copy/paste/screenshot what you said, quote you, make a meme…it will be part of cyberspace for all eternity. I really love your comments though!
I said this before, but if you skipped to this heading for info about newsletters specifically, here goes: I’m going to send an email newsletter. It is my hope that it will be useful to you in “Loving where you Live” here on the Southside. My purpose is to be of value for the community. Here’s the great part…my email software provider, Mailchimp, makes it super easy for you to change or delete your information at any time. You can unsubscribe to my email. The link will be in every email.
Third party websites
It’s also possible that they might have changed the information on the page I linked to. If you find that happened, I would love for you to let me know so I can update my link.
Compliance with children’s online privacy protection act
Here is the legal part: I never collect or maintain information from those I actually know are under 18, and no part of my website is structured to attract anyone under 18. If you become aware of any data I have collected from anyone under the age of 18, please contact me using my contact form.
How I secure your Personal Information
Here is the legal part: I adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information. While I have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide, please be aware that despite my efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, I cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.
