Beginning in 2020, the state will begin construction of the final leg of the expansion of I-69, converting Hwy. 37 into interstate. The expansion would cut down commute times, so it would be expected that much new housing will be planned around the western part of Bargersville after I-69 is completed. The project is projected to effect the economy of the southside by $4.1 billion over 20 years.
